I’m Jennifer and I’m a native of New Mexico.  I’ve taken road trips since I was 9, and my favorite place to visit is Yellowstone Nat. Park.  It’s about 2288 miles round trip, from our favorite spot in the park, so I decided to name my blog with this in mind.  Not to mention all the cool names were already taken.

My husband and I love to travel.  After we had our children, we grew very fond of driving vacations aka road trips.  I think we’ve taken our kids with us on about 17 different road trips.  And after they moved out, and we became “empty nesters”, we continued the road trip tradition.  As of 2016, I’ve been to 34 out of our 50 great states.

There is so much to see in our country:  Did you know that we have 58 National Parks, more than 5,800 State Parks, and 174 National Forests plus Grasslands?  All of these combined make up over 280 million plus acres – that’s a lot of ground to cover!  And I haven’t even included all of the State Forests – there are too many to count.  So I bet you can guess that my travel bucket list is to see as many of them as I can, including some I haven’t seen here in my own backyard.

It’s always fun to discuss our road trip adventures.   A high percentage of the cool things we run across are due to our own dumb luck, and our willingness to bypass the interstate and take the back roads.  Don’t get me wrong, we do enjoy the popular destinations, but tend to have more fun when we venture off of the beaten path.  I hope to offer an entertaining view of travel across North America, and inspire you to pack up the car and go!
